George Vrikis

George graduated from the University of Leicester where he acquired an LL.B. with first class (Hons) in 2006 and is also the holder of an LL.M. in Corporate & Commercial Law with Distinction. Upon Completion of his Bar Vocational Course (BVC) at BPP Law School in London, George was called to the Bar of England & Wales in 2007, being a member of the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn. He is a practicing advocate and member of the Cyprus Bar Association since 2007.

George’s main fields of expertise are corporate and commercial law, corporate & civil litigation, employment law, land law, estate planning, shipping law as well as administrative law. He has acted for and on behalf of multinational corporations for the Due Diligence reports and acquisition of structures based in Cyprus; including drafting and reviewing from a Cyprus-law perspective the pertinent agreements and documentation and working closely with global Law Firms.

George headed up the group responsible for restructuring of Cyprus shipping companies and the transfer of their assets to other European companies including Austria, Germany and The Netherlands, leading the preparation and drafting of all necessary Agreements, Resolutions, Shareholder approvals and Registrar documents, including the lifting and reregistration of mortgages held by various international banks. The project involved matters of employment law (termination and/or re domicile) and liquidating the Cyprus companies.

George has further headed the initial setup of companies in Cyprus, including Shareholders’ Agreements, relating to investments in internet startups and acquisitions of websites and IP rights, and was involved in the listing procedure of the parent company of a Cyprus subsidiary, in NASDAQ.

George is a member of the Cyprus Bar Association and the International Lawyers Network. George has also obtained the license under Cyprus Law to act as an Insolvency Practitioner.

In addition to his native Greek, George is also fluent in English and has basic understanding of the French language.

Niki Polykarpou

Ms. Niki Polykarpou, having completed her first degree and obtaining an LL.B. in Law from the University of Cyprus in 2015, went on to graduate from the Queen Mary University of London in 2016 where she acquired an LL.M. in Law with specialization in Commercial & Corporate Law. Upon successful completion of her pupilage in Cyprus, she has become a member of the Cyprus Bar Association and is a practicing advocate since 2017.

Niki has joined the law firm of G. Vrikis & Associates LLC as of 2016 and her main areas of practice are corporate law, immigration law, real estate law and commercial litigation and she is also experienced in civil litigation. Niki has also dealt as part of an experienced team with matters relating to Shareholder Agreements and Shareholder Disputes, Joint Venture Agreements and various corporate litigation issues.  

In addition to her native Greek, Niki is also fluent in English.

Ioanna Katsara

Ms. Ioanna Katsara, having completed her first degree and obtaining a BA in Sociology from the University of Cyprus in 2013, went on to graduate from the European University of Cyprus in 2016 where she acquired an LL.B. in Law with the highest honours of Summa Cum Laude. Upon successful completion of her pupilage in Cyprus, she has become a member of the Cyprus Bar Association and is a practicing advocate since 2017.

Ioanna is working with the law firm of G. Vrikis & Associates LLC as an external associate advocate.

Ioanna's main areas of practice are civil and commercial litigation and she is also experienced in Family and Employment Law. Ioanna has also dealt as part of an experienced team with matters relating to Children Abduction abroad, Interim Orders and injunctions, service of proceedings out of jurisdiction, as well as recognition and enforcement of foreign judgements in Cyprus.   

In addition to her native Greek, Ioanna is also fluent in English.

Athanasia Spyrou

Ms. Athanasia Spyrou, having completed her first degree and obtaining an LL.B. in Law from Coventry University in 2016, went on to graduate from the University of Birmingham in 2017 where she acquired an LL.M. in Law with specialization in Commercial Law.

Ms. Spyrou has joined the team of G. Vrikis & Associates LLC as of 2017 where she is currently undertaking her Pupillage with our Firm in order to be fully registered as an Advocate in the Republic of Cyprus.

In addition to her native Greek, Athanasia is also fluent in English and has basic proficiency in French.

Evangelia Tsionara

Ms. Evangelia Tsionara, having completed her Bachelor's Degree in Pre-Primary School Teaching at the University of Cyprus in 2016, continued her studies with a Master’s degree in Curriculum Studies and Comparative Education at University of Cyprus. During her graduate studies, she had the opportunity to work at the university as a research assistant.

Evangelia has joined the team of G. Vrikis & Associates LLC as of 2017 and is responsible, amongst others, for coordinating office activities and operations to secure efficiency and compliance to company policies, supervising administrative staff and dividing responsibilities between supporting staff to ensure optimal performance, handling front office reception and generally performing full administration support to the legal team.

In addition to her native Greek, Evangelia is also fluent in English.
